Itinerary – Back To Europe

And we are back in Europe to finish our grand adventure. I am way behind in getting updates on the site. We’ve just been too busy galavanting around the world 😉

The three of us were in complete agreement when it came to this decision. We may not be doing a complete “Round The World” trip but close enough! This will be our last itinerary update. I feel a little sad thinking about that, but what an amazing year it’s been and we still have two more months to go.

Italy

Venice – 3 Days

We had an amazing time here, even with the crazy jetlag. We’ll have pictures up for you soon.

Austria

Vienna – 3 Days

We were in Vienna 15 years ago! It was a very short visit then and the weather was terrible. I wanted to give it another chance and I’m glad we did. We loved it.

Poland

Krakow – 2 weeks

We’re slowing down the travels here, not only this will be great for our budget, it’ll also give us a chance to really enjoy the city.

Czech Republic

Prague – 2 Weeks

Another two weeks here to really soak in the culture. There is a big world-schooling community here and we hope to connect with other families 🙂

Germany

Heidelberg – 8 Days

A totally random pick 🙂  I was looking for a place between Prague and Paris. I posted the question on the World Schooling facebook group and had a few suggestions. Thanks, David & Sarah for the suggestion. I think we’re going to love it here.

France

Paris – 3 weeks

I finally get my wish of going back to Paris. We’ve rented an apartment in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and I can’t wait to go back to some of our favourite spots 🙂

Belgium

Ghent – 3 Days

How did we choose Ghent? Choosing the last couple of destinations was not easy. I must have spent hours staring at the map and googling small towns. Bruges is where Bruce really wanted to visit, but once we looked at prices and almost choked, we decided to look elsewhere. We’ll be here for 3 days and look forward to exploring this medieval city.

Netherlands

Utrecht – 1 Week

We booked our flight home from Amsterdam a while back, so we knew we’d be spending a few days in the Netherlands. But again, Airbnb prices really put me on edge. I can’t understand how a small apartment is going for close to $300/night! Thanks to Harmony & Ivo, a Canadian-Dutch world-schooling family we met in Chiang Mai, who told us about Utrecht. It’s exactly what we were looking for and as a bonus, it’s not far from Amsterdam for a day trip.

And that brings us to June 2nd when we’ll homebound via Wow Airlines.
