The Blue-Eyed Boy in India

My family and I spent a month in India and visited a few different cities. I enjoyed India, most of the time. I’m going to tell you about all the different places we visited.

Udaipur

We took a long overnight train to Udaipur from Delhi. We had our own cabin and it was comfortable. I think my parents were very happy to leave Delhi πŸ˜‰

We stayed at a homestay called Chandra Niwas and the owner is Samvit. He is a very nice guy and brought me to the local juice place almost every day.

He also had two very pretty and kind dogs. A St. Bernard called Julie and a mixed of two breeds called Donna.

She is patiently waiting for Samvit to come home

There was another person that was the main manager of the homestay and his name is Deepak. He prepared all our meals and was a very nice person. I liked hanging out with him.

Samvit took us on a tour of his youth centers one day and we had a lot of fun and got to meet the kids. He showed us around the villages and we stopped at a Chai place on the highway. My parents really liked it.

We went for walks along the lakes. Did you know Udaipur is called the Lake City. We had dinner on one of the lakes and it was really pretty at night with the lights. The food was so good that we went back to eat there on our last night.

Jodhpur

We took a car from Udaipur to Jodhpur. It took almost 4 hours to get there because we had to slow down a lot.

There were a lot of cows, sheep and sometimes camels on the road. We stayed at a place called Singhvi Haveli. It was a really cool place. They even had a swing in their common room and the view from the roof was pretty amazing. I have never seen so many dogs in the streets and they didn’t look too healthy πŸ™

My favourite part about Jodhpur was the hotel. It was at a perfect location right at the foot of the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort. We went to visit the fort one day and it was awesome.

One of the weird things that happened to me was that a lot of people wanted to take their pictures with me. I think they liked my blue eyes πŸ˜€

Here’s a cool fact about the Fort. Did you know it’s where Batman was held prisoner in the movie “Dark Night Rises” ?

Pretty cool eh!?

Shimla

After visiting Rajasthan we took a plane and then a car to go to a town called Shimla which is in the foothills of Himalayas. We stayed at another homestay called Marley Villa. The people working there were very nice and the place was super comfortable and I even had my own room.

We stayed in Shimla for 10 days and we spent our days just walking. Every day, on our way back from lunch, we would see a LOT of monkeys on the road. They would hang out in big groups and wereΒ kinda scary. One even jumped in front of me and almost gave me a heart attack. My favorite thing that I did was play with the boys that lived near the villa. They would come and get me every day after school and we would just run around play hide and seek or just do free running.

Delhi

We finished our trip by going back to Delhi for two days and met a really nice family that works at the Canadian High Commission, Cindy, Kale and Spencer. Kale brought us to the Spice market in Delhi during the day. It was very neat but made me sneeze and cough a lot. At night we went to their house and had dinner with them. I got to play with Spencer a lot and it was fun.

And that’s it for my India trip. Time to get on another plane. This time to Thailand πŸ™‚
